My Best Beauty Buys Part 2

Hello my little beauties!

Today’s first best beauty buy is Rimmel London Max Bold Curves mascara and Rimmel London Max Volume Flash mascara. I know what you might be thinking, Rimmel? Really? Yes, Rimmel is my favorite drugstore mascara brand hands down. I know a lot of people who don’t really like this brand but I don’t think many people give their mascaras a fair chance. I love these mascara’s because they both have a thick brush and go on smoothly as it separates the lashes while providing amazing length. But the best part is that these not only works instantly, but they work over time as well. Their mascara has collagen and keratin in them which is said to lengthen lashes and ever since I have started using either of them my lashes have been grown noticeably longer. Isn’t that all any of us want from a mascara? I have found the only difference between the two is that the Max Bold Curves has a curved brush and Max Volume Flash has a straight brush but they are basically the same brush and the same mascara formula. So next time you’re looking for a new mascara check out the Rimmel aisle and give it a fair shot!

My second best beauty buy is another drugstore product and that is Maybelline Super Stay Concealer. I've had a lot of people tell me that concealer is the one thing that should be splurged on and to not use drugstore brand. However, drugstore brand concealers are a quarter of the cost of a department store brand and since I have such light skin, most department store brands don’t even have shades light enough for me anyways. So those of you with very fair skin rejoice because Maybelline Super Stay Concealer in Ivory is the lightest shade concealer I have found so definitely check that out. Also, it is said to stay on for 24 hours which I haven’t found to be true but it did last a lot longer than other concealers I have tried. My skin tends to breakout easily so it’s important for the products I use to not clog pores or make me breakout and who would want the product covering a breakout to actually cause one. I was happy to find out that this didn’t cause me to breakout at all and it has very good coverage because it is thick but it is pretty easy to blend.

New Video Blog!!

Hey loves,

I put up a new video blog that is in two parts! (I know I talk too much) But the they're both about what I recommend to pack in a makeup travel bag. The first part is about the basics I would take with me anywhere and the second part is about what makeup I would take with me if I were going somewhere where I would be going out or getting dressed up. Comment, subscribe, tweet me, follow me, etc etc :)

Perfume Pick-Me-Up

Okay so this blog post kind of goes along with the last post about my favorite perfume but this post is completely dedicated to perfume. Perfumes are fun because you can change them as much as your moods so when you’re feeling girly you can put on a light flowery one or when you’re feeling like having a little more of a natural day you can have an earthy clean scent. I could talk about perfume for hours and a good signature perfume is hard to come by because it’s different for each person. (I talked about my current favorite in the previous blog post titled: “Best Beauty Buys Part 1” if you want to know my everyday favorite)

Also, keep in my when picking out a perfume the oils in them change when it mixes with your body’s natural oils on your skin so the perfume will change scent a little bit. So, using the little paper testers in the store aren’t the best indication of how it will smell actually on you. What I do is test them on the little papers then pick the two I like the most and put a little bit on each wrist. Then I go about my day and see which one stays on the longest, and which one smells the most pleasant throughout the day...trust me, it works like a charm; I always find one I like a little bit more. Happy perfume shopping!

Side Note: Many Sephora stores have a cool touch screen computer in the perfume section that you can take a quiz on and it will tell you a few perfume recommendations which is very useful to get you started. Also online, they have a fragrance finder which is fun to check out too. http://www.sephora.com/browse/me/index.jhtml

My Best Beauty Buys Part 1

 Hey beauty gurus,

I know I said this post would be dedicated to all my favorite beauty products at the moment but I have so much to say about these products it’s going to take a few blog posts so keep checking back to see the rest of my favs! Also, if you guys like these types of posts let me know and I will continue to write my best beauty buys because I always have new favorites.

My first product is the DKNY Pure perfume. I LOVE this perfume and wear it every day religiously. I am a big fan of signature scents; I know it probably sounds silly, but I want someone to be able to smell it again and have it remind them of me. This perfume has vanilla, Dew-Drop Petal, Lotus Flower, Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine, Freesia, Lush Orchid, White Amber, and Creamy Sandalwood. This scent is a little girly and clean but also a little musky. It’s a pretty and simple scent and it smells a little more like honeysuckle when it’s actually on and it is my absolute favorite! So check it out if it's sounds like something you might like!

My second product was going to be Urban Decay’s powder blush in Quickie because it’s such a bright beautiful pink but I'm pretty sure it's discontinued now so the next in line for favorite blush is Benefits’ boxed blush in Dandelion. Dandelion is such a pretty light pink but it is the least talked about of Benefits’ boxed blushes and I can’t figure out why because it smells so pretty (yes it really does smell pretty, like flowers) and it brightens up your face with a soft pink glow which I love. There is also a little bit of shimmer in it which creates a pretty glow without having those gross chunks of glitter like there are in other shimmer blushes. It comes with a little flat brush which I know a lot of people don’t like to use so you can always use a blush brush instead but I actually like using the brush provided because I find it puts the perfect amount of color down and it goes on more smoothly and evenly.

Check back tomorrow for a new post about how to pick out the perfect perfume!!

Rompin around in the Summer Time

My Little Fashionistas,

Todays topic is Rompers. Whether you love them or hate them, rompers have had some staying power these last couple years. They first hit the runways last Spring, headlining for big names such as Mark Jacobs and Max Azria but this Summer it seems as if rompers have taken over the store windows and they can be found at nearly every store in some shape or form. Who thought of rompers is what I would like to know. They don't seem like they would be the most flattering of trends and at first when I saw them on the racks of every store I love I couldn't help by cringe. They reminded me of the little outfits babies and toddlers wear and I could never see them being fashionable. Now I'm changing my tune because I've seen some rompers that I wouldn't mind wearing myself with cute fun fabrics and a cut that would flatter anyones body without making them look infantile. Pairing a romper with a cute belt and some oh so fabulous strappy sandals could possibly be the new it look for summer!
